I regard snack and meal times as a very important part of the day. Eating represents a social time for children and adults and helps children to learn about healthy eating. I provide nutritious food at all meals avoiding large quantities of fat, sugar, salt, artificial additives, preservatives and colourings. I aim to meet the full requirements of Ofsted’s care standards on food and drink.

If your child has any dietary needs this can be discussed and catered for. Parents will be advised if I have any concerns about children’s eating habits and I will work with parents to supply food that the child likes.

Depending on what time of day your child arrives and if it has been agreed that I provide meals for your child.

All children are provided with milk, water or fruit juice to drink freely throughout the day. The children will all sit together to eat and are encouraged to use good manners whilst eating such as not speaking with food in their mouths, using knives, forks, spoons correctly, sitting nicely at the table and not messing around whilst eating etc.

Below is a monthly menu of the types of food I provide, menu is rotated monthly:

If there are any special dietary requirements such as dietary intolerances or allergies we can discuss this together and sort something out. This is also if your child is a vegetarian or vegan we can adjust the menu accordingly.

Food Safety and Hygiene regulations say that I must be able to show what I do to make sure the food I provide for children and babies is safe to eat. There is also food hygiene requirements in the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation stage and other regulations that form part of my registration as a childminder.

If you ask I will provide information about the allergens (if they are used as ingredients in the prepared food and drink I provide) to the children in my care. You can find all 14 allergens and where they may be found.
