Childminding by Little Rascal offers a caring home from home environment, whilst following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Working with children is something I have wanted to do since a very young age. That is reason why I decided to become a childminder. I am an Ofsted registered childminder in Clifton-Swinton Area, Manchester, and a member of PACEY.
Setting is based in 3 bed room end of house, with the childminding setting using the ground floor with access to the garden. I live with my partner. We are loving, playful and genuine people whose passion it is to provide childcare and support parents with any needs they may have with their child’s development.
My childcare caters for a maximum of 6 children per day, between 6 months to eight years of age. The ages and numbers of children being cared for vary on each day due to the day of childcare that have been requested by parents. I feel I am a great option as I offer an environment that enables your child to express and develop their play and development. I have lots of toys and provide plenty of activities for the children to do. I also go out to local parks, attend playgroups, Rhyme time, visit local libraries and go to soft play centres, but also let the children have some time to play in a home environment. I do many educational adult-led activities and child led free-play on a daily basis which develops areas of learning in literacy, communication,
physical exercise, crawling and walking, pen control, numeracy, art and design, knowledge of the World,
personal, social and emotional development.
All children have use of a garden which has a range of outdoor toys – slide, sand & water tables, balls etc. The room are child orientated, colourful and filled with toys and equipment for children of all different ages. Childminding by Little Rascal
is situated close to Bolton Road, L.I.V.I.A Silverdale Park and The Funhouse (indoor children play centre).
Parents are kept informed about their child’s learning development and daily routine through an online digital learning journeys founded of Baby's Days is an OFSTED, it is designed for nurseries and childminders and includes Daily Diaries, planned activities, Menu’s, Observation and tracks stages of a child’s development to the Early Year Outcomes, Development Matters. I provide daily emails containing photos so parents can see what we have been doing and how happy their children are. I complete for all children daily logs for all activities they have done, food they have eaten, sleeps they have had, nappy changes and any comments I have on their development or something cute they did or said.
BENEFITS OF CHILDMINDER
Why you should use a childminder?
When you are looking for a childminder, there are many things that you will be looking for and will want to consider.
To give you a better idea of what a childminder can offer and how your child would settle, you may want to visit a few different childminders before making a decision. You may find that the one you choose isn't necessarily the first you find or the cheapest.
It is all about finding a childminder who will meet the needs of your child and you.
You should try a childminder because:
They provide daycare in a home environment
Childminders may work flexible hours to fit a range of working patterns
Childminders can adapt to the child's routine such as school pick-ups
Childminders are family-friendly as they can look after children of different ages
With a maximum of three children ( under 5 ), childminders offer a more individual service
Children can enjoy real-life experiences like cooking and gardening
Childminders regularly go on outings to libraries, parks and play groups etc.
Life long friendships with the childminder and other children may be formed
OFSTED inspect Childminders to make sure their practice is effective in delivering the EYFS
Childminders can provide a vital and high quality service for both you and your child. Many childminders are able to offer a flexible service to include school drops and pick-ups, part time care to cover a range of working patterns as well being able to provide care for possibly all of your children. Childminders can provide a caring, friendly and relaxed environment for each child, taking in to account any special needs or requirements, making the care they give individual to each child.
There are many benefits of using a childminder. Your child will be one of a small group as the most children any childminder can have is six under eight's. This means the childminder will be able to provide your child with care, attention and support that may not be available in other types of childcare.
Your child may form close relationships with other children and the childminder, creating a welcoming and secure environment. Many childminders care for children from being a baby right through to teenage years providing continuity for you and your child.
